What Does This Mean?
NewWay and Larger Story have been two distinct ministries sharing the goal of making the lifework and legacy of Dr. Larry Crabb available to a broad audience. While NewWay’s primary focus was ‘in-person’ interactions taught through conferences and speaking engagements, especially the School of Spiritual Direction and NextStep; Larger Story was created to pursue new, younger audiences offering Larry’s timeless message through uniquely crafted online platforms.
With Larry’s most recent health issues and reduced energy levels it was time to put an end to ‘in-person’ engagements. From the comfort of home, Larry will continue to write, teach on-line seminars, produce podcasts and support the efforts of Larger Story through the various online resources. This merger allows us to share Larry’s teachings to all persons, at any age, and any location, as together we each seek to relate like Christ as we further the larger story God is telling.
The New Larger Story
Together we exist to engage the fight against relational poverty, inviting the next generation of Christians into life lived in the context of God’s Larger Story. We desire to ignite a revolution- a relational revolution intended to battle the spiritual poverty we each bear (Romans 7) and to inspire and equip the body of Christ, particularly a new generation, to pursue relational holiness as partakers of the divine nature (2 Peter 1:4), putting Jesus on display by the way we relate no matter our circumstances or the condition of our soul.
NewWay Spiritual Communities
By combining the expertise of NewWay and Larger Story, we will support, equip, and facilitate online and in-person communities for the purposes of spiritual direction and spiritual formation. Over the next two years, we will be developing book groups, spiritual formation cohorts, a new version of the School of Spiritual Direction, and many other new offerings. To honor the 20 years NewWay Ministries supplied unparalleled training in spiritual direction, these efforts will be known as NewWay Spiritual Communities.
